Virtual Machine Windows XP
Virtual Machine Windows XP
Hey guys,
I'm having trouble getting back on. I'm on a Mac now, but i'm running a virtual machine for Windows XP. Question - can i run the revival version on Windows XP? Do i need to? Can i play with the original version on Windows XP?
Looking forward to getting back on here.
With thanks,

Re: Virtual Machine Windows XP
You should be able to run the game in a Virtual Machine. Performance might be a little degraded. It cant really hurt to try.
"Does not work" is an error report for a bug between keyboard and chair.

Re: Virtual Machine Windows XP
Let's start with the following questions...
- Which version of Fusion are you running?
- Is XP service packed and what SP is it running?
- What is the exact error message that you get when MOHAA Crashes? <----Mucho Importante!
- Do you have any other games installed on that XP VM and do they crash?

Re: Virtual Machine Windows XP
What macOS are you using that allows an XP VM? I'm assuming you aren't using parallels for this...
Re: Virtual Machine Windows XP
I'm not a mac expert...but I run the Windows version of this game in Linux, and have also used it on Vista and Win7 in the past. Since it came out in the early 2k's, XP was the defacto OS and it should work.
Whatever your virtualization environment, you will want to make sure it allows for native 3D graphics acceleration...you don't want to run on virtualized graphics. I am not using virtualization, but rather Wine. I believe there is a version of WIne that runs on Mac as well.
Also, there is indeed a native Mac version of this game. A guy I used to play with occasionally from MFF clan used it, in fact.

Since there has been no response from the OP, I'm going to consider my participation in this as EOF:
