I'd recommend using volute to ensure you're not doing anything weird. But it's up to you.

Where you spawn is determined by .pk3 files on the server side. As far as I know, you have zero control over where you spawn and it's dictated by the map, game type (tdm, ffa, obj, round-based), and proximity to opposing players.

If it's the first, what was your in-game name? If it's the latter, it's most likely a range ban that can be addressed.
